Italienischer Opern-Tenor Joe Fallisi nimmt an nächster Free-Gaza-Reise teil

Die Free-Gaza-Story geht weiter. Am oder um den 22. September wird ein Boot mit sechsundzwanzig Internationalen von Zypern aus nach Gaza aufbrechen. Darunter sind Teilnehmer der ersten, historischen Free-Gaza-Fahrt vom 22.-23. August und einige neue Passagiere. Einer von ihnen ist der italienische Opernsänger Joe Fallisi.

Joe Fallisi besuchte die Civica Scuola d'Arte Drammatica des Piccolo Teatro in Mailand sowie das örtliche Konservatorium, machte einen Abschluss in vokaler Kammermusik und studierte künstlerischen Gesang. Einen weiteren Abschluss machte er in Philosophie an der Universität von Genua. Sein Repertoire reicht von Oper, Kammer- und sakraler Musik zu Musical und Liedern und er hat in vielen Theatern, Konzertsälen und Festivals in Italien und im Ausland gesungen und mehrere nationale und internationale Musikwettbewerbe gewonnen.

Zwei Sammlungen klassischer Melodien hat er selbst geschrieben: "Chants de guerre parisiens" nach Gedichten von Baudelaire, Verlaine und Rimbaud (2007) und "Carne e cielo. Poesia italiana in canto", das auf berühmte italienische Gedichte gegründet ist (2008). Der Veganer Fallisi ist stolz auf seine anarchistischen Wurzeln und komponierte eine Reihe von Protestliedern, darunter das bekannte "La ballata del Pinelli".

"Verrà" ist eines von Joe Fallisis Songs für Palästina. Er schrieb einen neuen italienischen Text zu dem Traditional "Amazing Grace" und singt: "Freiheit wird kommen ... Palästina ist in unseren Herzen ... Zionisten, Unterdrücker, Tyrannen werden fallen ... ihr jüdischen Brüder, lebt mit uns ... uns wird das eine Land gehören ... die neue Menschlichkeit wird Gerechtigkeit, Gleichheit und Zusammengehörigkeit bringen." Fragen der Gerechtigkeit und der Menschenrechte haben den Sänger schon immer bewegt. Für das "Save the Children"-Projekt "Riscriviamo il futuro" sang er kürzlich mit der Hip-Hop-Band Two Fingerz. Sein Engagement für Palästina entspringt derselben Quelle: "Was den Palästinensern widerfährt, die seit 60 Jahren von zionistischen Invasoren und Besatzern unterdrückt werden, ist fürchterlich repräsentativ für die Situation der Ungerechtigkeit in der ganzen Welt. Und sogar eine der schlimmsten anhaltenden Ursachen dafür. Besonders die mörderische Belagerung von Gaza, die mit dem feigen Schweigen und der Komplizenschaft der westlichen Regierungen einhergeht, ist etwas, das ein anständiger Mensch nicht länger akzeptieren kann. Palästinenser haben ein Recht darauf, frei zu sein, so wie jedes andere Volk. Ich bin glücklich und wirklich stolz darauf, beim nächsten Free-Gaza-Trip dabei zu sein und wünsche mir so sehr, in Gaza zu singen, für meine Schwestern und Brüder."

Fallisi ist auch Schauspieler. Nach seiner Rückkehr aus Gaza wird er eine Hauptrolle in einer italienischen Filmproduktion spielen, "Sogni di Piombo". Außerdem hat er soeben das Trio "Tre tenori italiani" gegründet, zusammen mit zwei Mitgliedern des Chors der Mailänder Scala. Im Rahmen seiner Free-Gaza-Reise wird Joe Fallisi auch als Journalist für die italienische Online-Nachrichtenagentur Infopal tätig sein.

Italian Opera Tenor Joe Fallisi to Join Next Free Gaza Voyage

The Free Gaza story continues. On or about September 22 a boat with twenty-six internationals will start from Cyprus to reach Gaza. Among them are veterans from the historic first Free Gaza voyage of August 22-23 and some new passengers. One of them is Italian opera singer Joe Fallisi.

Joe Fallisi attended the Civica Scuola d'Arte Drammatica of Milan Piccolo Teatro and the local conservatory, obtaining a degree in vocal chamber music and studying artistic singing. He also has a degree in philosophy from Genoa University. His repertoire reaches from opera, chamber and sacred music, to musical and songs and he has been singing in many theatres, concert halls and festivals in Italy and abroad, winning several national and international music competitions.

Two collections of classical melodies he wrote himself: "Chants de guerre parisiens", based on poems by Baudelaire, Verlaine and Rimbaud (2007), and "Carne e cielo. Poesia italiana in canto", based on famous Italian poems (2008). Proud of his anarchist roots, the vegan Fallisi composed a number of protest songs, among them the well known "La ballata del Pinelli".

"Verrà" is one of Joe Fallisi's songs for Palestine. He wrote new Italian lyrics to the traditional "Amazing Grace" and sings: "Freedom will come ... Palestine in our hearts ... Zionists, oppressors, tyrants will fall ... oh brothers Jews do live with us ... ours will be one country ... the new humanity will have justice, equality, together." Matters of justice and the human rights have always concerned the singer. For the project "Riscriviamo il futuro" of "Save the Children" he recently sang with the Hip Hop band Two Fingerz. His engagement for Palestine springs from the same source: "What happens to the Palestinian people, oppressed since 60 years by Zionist invaders and occupants, is terribly representative of the situation of injustice in the whole world. And even one of the worst, continuous sources of that. Particularly, the murderous siege of Gaza, that happens with the cowardly silence and complicity of the Western governments, is something that any decent human being can no longer accept. Palestinians have a right to be free like every other people. I am happy and really proud to be on the next Free Gaza trip and I so much wish to sing in Gaza, for my sisters and brothers."

Fallisi also is an actor. On his return from Gaza he will play a leading role in an Italian movie production, "Sogni di Piombo". Furthermore, he just founded the trio "Tre tenori italiani" together with two members of the Milan Scala Choir. For the purpose of his Free Gaza journey Joe Fallisi will also be a journalist for the Italian online news agency Infopal.
